Urban Pubs, Bars and Restaurants are currently recruiting for a talented and highly skilled General Manager with personality & charisma for our expanding group. With an eclectic mix of properties and new openings to suit your personality and style, this really is an exciting time to join a people focused and progressive operations led business.

The Duke of York in Haggerston is a friendly local steeped in history. As the birth place of one of the UK\’s best known beers this place is a destination for craft beer lovers. We are looking for a GM who knows East London like the back of their hand and has their finger on the pulse of all that\’s great about this vibrant area. You should be a pillar of this community and know all that\’s great about this little corner of London. Whether you\’re an experienced GM or an AM ready for that first step into a GM role this fantastic pub could be the right move for you.

The Role

  • As GM you will take full ownership of all aspects of running the venue. You will be given autonomy and run the site as if it were your own business.
  • Being business savvy and demonstrating great commercial acumen is a must.
  • Your team will look up to you, it\’s essential to train, nurture and develop your staff to maintain incredibly high standards and customer satisfaction.
  • You have impeccable floor, bar and late night experience knowledge as well as late night experience.
  • You will be given the opportunity to train, personally develop and progress your career as the company continues to grow.

What we looking for:

  • \”Wear your heart on your sleave\”, take ownership, be bold and run the business as if it\’s your own
  • Be cool, calm and collected, manage pressure with ease, nothing can phase you
  • You\’re not precious. We leave our egos at the door and help get sh*t done
  • Must have minimum 2 years\’ experience as a general manager depending on the property being looked at
  • Solid communication and organisational skills, be approachable
  • Superb customer & floor service skills
  • Excellent all-round business knowledge from financials to customer satisfaction
  • An entrepreneurial flare
  • Passionate about people, training, mentoring, growing a team but most importantly, loves to have fun
  • Personal License holder beneficial
