About the Role
We are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team on a fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave. This role will focus primarily on cash management, bank-related processes, and supporting the accurate recording of financial data across multiple sites.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, ensuring timely reconciliations, and supporting day-to-day finance operations.
Key responsibilities
- Perform daily and weekly bank reconciliations
- Manage and monitor cash postings and bank transactions
- Process and review staff expense claims in line with company policy
- Reconcile site deposits and investigate any discrepancies
- Post weekly sales for multiple sites accurately and on time
- Support cash control processes across the business
- Assist with resolving bank-related queries and discrepancies
- Issue customer invoices and keep the accounts receivable ledger updated
- Work closely with site teams and internal departments to ensure accuracy of financial data
- Provide general support to the Accounts Payable and wider Finance team as required
Skills required
- Effective time management & ability to work under pressure
- Excellent analytical skills & attention to detail
- Strong Excel skills
- Good communication skills and ability to liaise with non-finance stakeholders
- To work autonomously and take ownership

- Experience with accounting systems (e.g. Sage, Intacct, or similar) is desirable
