This is a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Designer to join our Menswear Design team at Urban Outfitters! This role focuses on designing multiproduct across our apparel ranges.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Assisting in the design development of multi‑product.
  • Researching and identifying latest key trends to inspire and develop new ranges, and to complement and drive forward existing product lines.
  • Sourcing new fabrics and trims, identifying key washes and techniques in‑line with trend at the start and throughout the season.
  • Supporting the development of an innovative and commercial range of fashion products to meet business requirements across the UK and Europe for both stores and online.
  • Designing products with an awareness of price architecture, margins and selling prices.
  • Working closely with Buying and Merchandising teams to source, present and select commercial ranges.
  • Understanding the brand's image, broad knowledge of trends – assisting on trend mailers, contributing to overriding seasonal concepts, colour and wash boards.
  • Keeping ahead of trade, developing an understanding of key drivers and best sellers.
  • Assisting Seniors on key item presentation decks.
  • Developing concepts to hand/CAD sketches to create CAD technical packs including measurement specifications and clear fabric and trim references.
  • Trend research and analysis.
  • Inspiring up, down and across peers through imagery & creative vision.
  • Demonstrating a passion for the product and knowledge of how trends evolve using natural creative flair.

What You'll Need

  • A Menswear design background & technical knowledge is essential, along with working across multi‑product areas.
  • Portfolio should be very directional and demonstrate an ability to think outside the box.
  • The understanding of Urban as a trend maker and leader, with the know‑how to take it to the next level.
  • A strong attention to detail from concept stage through to specs and final designs.
  • Proven track record of delivering in‑season product, with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficient CAD – Illustrator/Photoshop and InDesign skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong ability to build and maintain relationships.
