Overview
The role of a Loss Prevention Advisor is to protect our people, profit and assets of URBN Europe. In addition, the expectation is that the role supports the goal of reducing Loss by identifying and preventing theft, fraud and non-compliance, providing a safe and secure environment for our staff and customers.
Responsibilities
- Identifying any type of loss to the business by deterring through excellent customer service.
- Apprehending shoplifters in accordance with the company policy.
- Helping the business to understand and detect fraud.
- Detecting internal crime and detecting process errors.
- Ensuring all cases are managed effectively by producing accurate written statements and incident reports and ensuring these are managed in line with internal guidelines.
- Attending court on behalf of the company if required.
- Ensuring all reports conform with data protection regulations.
- Acting as a point of contact for law enforcement authorities where required.
- Delivering accurate, concise information to the stores and District Manager relating to stock loss, incidents and patterns to identify key process weaknesses.
- Making recommendations on cost-effective opportunities to reduce loss, improve process and/or efficiency.
- Where process changes are approved, supporting with implementation, embedding and follow-up.
- Supporting store teams with emergency response and procedures and escalating where necessary.
- Regularly delivering Loss Prevention training programmes to ensure awareness and compliance to all store teams.
- Ensuring every new member of the store team receives a Loss Prevention induction.
- Recording training delivered and attendees, and ensuring all Loss Prevention and Retail Operations policies and procedures are adhered to. Feeding back concerns and non-compliance to the appropriate business partners.
- Ensuring all Physical Security and Loss Prevention technical equipment is working effectively and used correctly. Troubleshooting and escalating faults where required in a timely manner.
- Communicating and collaborating with contractor guard services.
- Liaising with and supporting other URBN Europe stores across all brands to share best practice and identify common issues.
- Representing URBN Europe at local Retail Crime Schemes and participating in meetings as appropriate.
- Continuing to learn by taking part in both internal and external Loss Prevention education and awareness programs.
- This is not a Monday to Friday 9 to 5 role; you will be required to work a mixture of days/lates including weekend working, to suit the business risks.

- Possess a good working knowledge of relevant local legislation.
- Understand modern Loss Prevention techniques.
