Role Summary: To achieve the Anthropologie mission of creating an \’unimagined store experience\’ by developing a store culture that fosters creativity and inspires both the store team and the customer. The role involves setting and achieving strategic short and long-term goals, applying a forward-thinking and omni-channel approach to retail. You will oversee and assume ultimate accountability for store operations, sales, service, product presentation, visual merchandising, profitability, and loss prevention, with a strong focus on employee development and succession. Additionally, participating in building community relationships that reflect the Anthropologie culture.
What You\’ll Be Doing
People
- Strategically recruit, train, and develop managers to increase daily productivity.
- Assist in developing the management team to ensure succession planning and future growth.
- Manage all aspects of performance development, including appraisals, development plans, coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions.
- Uphold company standards and act as a strong leader, mentor, and positive role model.
Leadership and Communication
- Lead by example and communicate store and company goals effectively.
- Lead change and innovation, supporting new ideas and initiatives to evolve the retail experience.
- Responsible for the rollout of new training and operational initiatives.
- Possess excellent communication skills in both written and verbal form.
- Manage and motivate the store teams to achieve exceptional customer care.
- Challenge and inspire the team to elevate the store experience through service, merchandising, and displays.
Managing the Environment
- Coach and empower the management team to take initiative.
- Oversee customer service and operations to ensure a positive store environment.
- Exhibit excellent floor presence by leading, training, and coaching.
- Partner with the Visual Manager for effective visual merchandising.
Operations
- Conduct walkthroughs with management for feedback and goals.
- Lead store-level operational procedures in accordance with policies.
- Achieve stock loss goals.
- Develop and implement shipment processing systems for merchandise replenishment.
- Plan and execute projects efficiently.
- Oversee store Health & Safety procedures.
Merchandising and Display
- Collaborate with Visual Manager to create an inspiring yet profitable store environment.
- Coordinate merchandising projects and communicate effectively between retail and visual teams.
- Coach team members on fashion trends and creative solutions.
Commercial Awareness
- Maximize sales and manage stock levels through analysis of reports and market trends.
- Understand store profitability and guide the team accordingly.
- Stay updated on trends, social media, and customer profiles.
- Demonstrate entrepreneurial skills to exceed targets.
Experience & Skills
- Experience in senior management within a fast-paced, creative retail environment.
- Proven ability to impact sales, payroll, and stock loss positively.
