What the job involves
URBN is seeking a Manager of Regulatory Compliance to join our Global Trade and Compliance department during a transformative era for international retail. The Manager will play a critical role in ensuring URBN teams are kept up to date on regulations, and will help build effective processes to address compliance. As the legislative landscape shifts, the Manager will serve as the strategic lead for EU and UK ESG regulations, including EPR, CSRD, EUDR, and Digital Product Regulatory Horizon Scanning.
- Horizon Scanning: Proactively monitor and interpret the evolving EU/UK legislative landscape (e.g., CSRD, CSDDD, EUDR, EPR) to provide executive-level insights on business impact and 'market-readiness.'
- Strategic Risk Management: Conduct comprehensive gap analyses and design risk-based compliance frameworks that prioritise high-impact areas while maintaining business agility.
- Global Harmonization: Act as the primary liaison to the US Regulatory team, ensuring EU/UK requirements are integrated into a cohesive, enterprise-wide global compliance strategy.
- Compliance Platform: Serve as a functional lead in the deployment of Digital Product Passports (DPP) and other initiatives using the new compliance platform, ensuring data architecture supports long-term traceability and reporting.
- Process Transformation: Continually audit and optimise regional compliance workflows to eliminate redundancies and leverage efficiencies across the UK and EU business units.
- Vendor & Supply Chain Mobilization: Design and implement communication and onboarding strategies to ensure the global supply base is educated, compliant, and aligned with new transparency mandates.
- Internal Diplomacy: Lead cross-functional working groups to embed compliance into the product lifecycle and corporate reporting.
- Brand Partnership: Transform complex regulations into actionable guidance for Brand and Production teams.
- External Representation: Represent the company in industry forums to benchmark best practices and influence emerging industry standards.
- Technical Advisory: Provide high-level guidance on EU/UK Product Safety regulations and mandatory labelling requirements, ensuring that strategic ESG initiatives remain aligned with core product safety standards.
