We are looking for a Freelance Senior Designer to support our Menswear Design team here at Urban Outfitters. This is a great opportunity to develop innovative, commercial collections for our UK and European markets. In this fast‐paced role, you will collaborate closely with buying teams to deliver directional, fast‐react products that resonate with our authentic, forward‐thinking community.
What You'll Be Doing
- Develop an innovative, yet commercial range that primarily meets business requirements across the UK and Europe for stores and online, whilst continually exceeding expectations and exciting the Urban core customer and the wider marketplace alike.
- Design a 'complete' range which demonstrates an awareness of price architecture, margin expectation, competitive RRP's and covers all seasonal 'fashion' and core 'callouts'.
- Work closely with senior members of the design team to create seasonal trend stories which follow specific brand sensibilities, colour palettes, print direction and departmental key items.
- React quickly to ever evolving trends and portray this message effectively to buying and merchandising teams alike.
- Show knowledge and understanding of 'high' fashion trends, 'underground street styles' and wider 'cultural movements', and report on them.
- Build close working relationships with buying teams to define and produce collections that reflect the 'true' Urban Outfitters concept while ensuring commerciality remains.
- Stay abreast of current season sales and create fast‐react in‐season product to meet demands.
