ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Senior Associate, you will play an important role in fostering the vibrancy and growth of ULI Europe Young Leaders (YLG) and NEXT, two dynamic and influential membership groups that spearhead transformative initiatives within both ULI and the broader built‑environment sector. Comprising professionals under 35 (Young Leaders) and between 35 and 45 (NEXT), these groups represent the existing and future leaders and innovators shaping the industry. We are seeking a proactive individual who is eager to immerse themselves in this energetic community, taking on the role of a project management support and community engagement.
Your responsibilities will extend across current and future initiatives, as well as all events associated with Young Leaders and NEXT both on European level and across ULI Europe geography. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to and drive the impactful changes orchestrated by these interdisciplinary, multinational cohorts. Working closely with ULI National Councils team and Europe support staff, the Senior Associate will assist in the development and growth of membership within these groups whilst delivering and developing ULI’s activities across Europe. The incumbent reports to the Manager, National Councils, ULI Europe.

- NEXT and Young Leaders Forums at the Europe Annual Conference
- Young Leaders/NEXT National Councils Bi‑Monthly Forums (online)
- NEXT activities at the industry events (e.g. MIPIM; EXPO Real)

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic development and monitoringContribute to and execute the strategic plans for the Young Leaders Group (YLG) and NEXT related to membership growth, programme design, content, cost management and revenue generation. Regularly monitor performance of the individual YLG/NEXT programmes and events against their strategic plan, provide recommendations for improvements and performance reports.
Programme design and executionContribute to and implement the plan which reflects a quarterly business cycle offering YLG/NEXT ‘delivery‑ready’ events. Contribute to and follow the strategy delivery plan including revenue generation / cost cover (through sponsorship, fees or gift‑in‑kind arrangements). Responsible for standardisation of event programmes and templates to ensure ULI branded events are created to a high standard across the various European markets. Work closely with the ULI Leadership, Marketing, National Council and Membership teams to prepare forthcoming content that can be used to form the basis of the event programme. Create and/or use existing slide decks and videos that help YLG/NEXT present consistent messaging on ULI’s content offerings. Identify and invite speakers, members, ULI staff and other presenters who will help bring an international dimension to the roll‑out of the planned content. Create templates and support the education of YLG/NEXT in the development of sponsorship agreements, budget plans, pricing strategies and work with the wider team on member/non‑member communications and marketing plans.
Marketing and communicationUnderstand, communicate and deliver the ULI brand to the Young Leader and NEXT cohort. Write copy of event marketing emails, newsletters, brochures, and promotional materials. Work in partnership with the National Councils’ Team in London to produce high‑quality, appealing, creative, and tailored YLG/NEXT marketing materials; and create and implement innovative and effective marketing strategies, including: Monitoring all marketing responses, analysing the effectiveness of marketing outlets, and delivering pre/post‑event marketing analysis including delegate feedback surveys. Preparing social media assets and managing social media campaigns and community management. Promoting ULI Europe YLG and NEXT events (physical or virtual) within the community and on social networks. Keeping the ULI Europe YLG and Europe NEXT webpages up to date.
Membership and SponsorshipIn partnership with dedicated teams cultivate key members and sponsors. In collaboration with the membership team support membership growth activities, including being the point of contact for Young Leaders and NEXT regarding member‑related queries.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Requirements and Preferred SkillsMinimum 3‑5 years of experience in events and/or project management. Knowledge of the real‑estate industry and/or experience in a membership organisation is preferred. Marketing and Communications Experience, including the ability to create marketing content, manage social media platforms, analyse campaign performance, support brand delivery, and work collaboratively to develop effective marketing materials and strategies. Experience working in an international organisation.
SkillsStrong understanding of stakeholder engagement and organisational relationships, with the ability to manage these effectively to support delivery. Ability to develop plans and work collaboratively with volunteers and local teams on the ground. Confidence in sourcing and inviting speakers, and in communicating the value of ULI membership for Young Leaders and NEXT. Ability to write protocols, guidelines, create slide decks, and produce communication templates aligned with ULI branding. Highly motivated team player with strong multi‑tasking skills and self‑motivation. Excellent organisational skills with high accuracy and attention to detail. Strong personal attributes, including communication skills, interpersonal skills, composure under pressure, and cultural adaptability. Ability to manage competing priorities effectively. Demonstrates the highest level of honesty, integrity, and respect for confidentiality. Proficient in technology tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and design or content‑creation platforms. Proficiency in an additional European language is preferred but not essential.
EDUCATION
University degree or equivalent work experience.
