About us
At Urban Jungle, we’re making insurance fair - to people, planet and wallets. We're one of the fastest-growing businesses in the UK, working to fix one of the biggest industries in the world. We put customers at the heart of everything we do, using data and technology to make insurance simple, flexible, and affordable.
We care about our impact on the planet, becoming a B Corp in 2022 and offsetting our carbon emissions every year. So far, we’ve helped 300,000 customers get better insurance and become one of the top-rated home insurance providers in the UK. We placed 1st in Tempo's 2024 award for best startup to work for, and are in the top 10 of Deloitte’s Fast 50. We’ve raised over £43m in funding to date to help us with our mission. We’re looking for people to join our team of kind, talented people on a mission to change the insurance industry for good.
About the role
Over the past 18 months, we’ve fully in-housed our Home claims - all hosted on our own technology, to help us deliver a game changing claims proposition for our customers. We’re looking for a Home Claims Handler to play a crucial role in scaling our in-house claims function at Urban Jungle, and ensure we deliver a best-in-class experience.
As a Home Claims Handler, you'll be integral to delivering technical excellence across our claims team, ensuring accurate and efficient outcomes on both in-house and TPA managed claims, driving improvements in key claims processes, and working closely with various teams across the business to enhance the claims experience. From day one, you’ll have the opportunity to impact how we best serve our growing customer base and iterate and improve our claims proposition.
Here's what you'll get up to:
- Be the driving force behind our in-house claims, managing your own portfolio from FNOL to settlement and delivering efficient, positive outcomes for customers across all claims types.
- Work directly with our TPA partners, reviewing their claim referrals, and ensuring these partners deliver strong performance.
- Drive improvements in our SLAs through ownership of our internal and external claims processes.
- Streamline our in-house claims operations to deliver efficiencies for the business and customer outcomes.
- Play a key role in cross-functional projects, working alongside our Product, Underwriting and Engineering teams to shape the claims experience when we launch into exciting new markets.
You've read this far! Here's what we're looking for from you:
- Some commercial experience working with Personal Lines claims.
- You love being a technical expert and enjoy helping customers through the claims process.
- You are excited by the opportunity to help scale our claims function and bring more of the claims value chain in-house.
- You recognise the difference that this will make to the business and our customers.
- You’ve got strong written and verbal communication skills to support our customers through the claims process.
- You’re excited to work in a fast-paced startup environment and motivated to learn.
- You’ve a collaborative mindset and love working as part of a team to achieve our goals and solve complex problems.
- You’re keen to work at a business that takes a customer-first approach and recognises that the customer is at the heart of our business.
These requirements are a guide as to what we’re looking for, but if you don’t have all of the skills listed above, that’s okay! Please don’t let that hold you back from applying if the role excites you.
