Senior BDM | Design-led furniture & interiors scaleup - PropTech
London (2 days in office) or fully remote in the North
Basic c£75k - uncapped OTE (c£120k)
Got strong relationships with BTR developers and operators? Our client is a founder-run furniture and interiors design company within PropTech, who supplies and installs everything a residential scheme needs:
• Fully furnished apartments across entire BTR, co-living and multi-unit schemes
• Amenity spaces: resident lounges, co-working areas, receptions, gyms
• Show apartments and model units that help schemes let
Their clients are BTR developers, operators and the funds behind them. Recent wins include a whole co-living building.
WHY NOW
• Revenue has doubled this year, and they're targeting the same again next year
• A funding round is under way, with expansion planned across the UK, including the North next year
• The design, product and delivery engine is proven. What's missing is a senior person to win the largest schemes
THE ROLE
A new, senior role owning the company's biggest contracts: £300k+ each, with four or five wins a year.
• Build relationships with developers, operators and funds, and map who makes the furniture decision on each scheme
• Lead proposals, tenders and frameworks end to end, including social and environmental impact questions. You set the win strategy, pull in design, operations and finance, and own the submission
• Pitch to senior decision-makers, in person and online
• Work with the founders on pricing, margins and payment terms to put each bid in the best position to win
• Decide which opportunities are worth pursuing, and manage a long-cycle pipeline
• Represent the business at BTR and residential industry events
ABOUT YOU
What you've sold matters less than who you've sold it to.
You'll have:
• Senior relationships at BTR developers or operators, and named schemes or clients you've won or worked on
• Hands-on experience of tenders and frameworks. You write and run the bid; you don't hand it off
• A track record of large B2B deals on long sales cycles
• Experience bringing internal teams together to deliver what you've sold
A background in FF&E, furniture or interiors is a bonus, but not essential. You might have sold fit-out, proptech, connectivity, energy or another service into BTR.
This probably isn't for you if your background is mainly home staging, retail or fast-turnaround sales, or if your contacts are at site or property-management level.
