I’m working with one of the most exciting deep-tech AI startups in London - scaling fast and building the future of on-device, self-training AI. Their tech is already live in 1,000+ Tier 1 retail stores.

They’re hiring a Technical Solutions Engineer - but not the usual TAM/implementation flavour. Think client-facing, deep troubleshooting, edge deployments, distributed systems, containers, logs, Linux, cloud, and being the technical owner of AI models running across thousands of edge devices.

If you enjoy pulling systems apart, debugging across multiple layers, and being the go-to technical partner for enterprise customers, this one’s seriously interesting.

If you’re an engineering-minded trouble shooter with strong Linux/SQL/Docker/cloud experience and you like customer interaction without losing hands-on depth - this role could be for you!

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Act as the technical owner for enterprise deployments across thousands of edge devices
  • Troubleshoot issues end-to-end across AI models, device integrations, infrastructure, cloud services and on-device performance
  • Analyse logs, system metrics and telemetry dashboards (Grafana, Metabase, etc.) to pinpoint root causes
  • Work hands-on with Linux, SQL, Docker/containers and cloud fundamentals
  • Lead pilots, rollouts and on-device testing across major retail estates
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, ML and product teams to improve system reliability
  • Own incidents from first report through to identifying production-level bugs
  • Operate autonomously in a fast-paced startup environment with minimal supervision
  • Translate complex technical issues into clear, actionable outcomes for enterprise clients
  • Act as the dedicated technical point of contact for key customers
Ideal Background

You’re hands-on, analytical, and comfortable taking full ownership of technical problems in live customer environments with experience supporting retailtech, computer vision, or IoT technologies (PoS, SCOs, CCTV, or connected devices).

You have a strong understanding of:

  • Edge ML pipelines (model training, validation, orchestration)
  • Retail IT infrastructure (PoS, SCO, store networks)
  • Integration frameworks (APIs, SDKs, cloud-edge sync)
Technical Experience Required:
  • Strong troubleshooting experience, across:
  • SQL
  • Linux/OS-level commands
  • Docker / container tooling
  • Cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure)
  • Log analysis & performance monitoring

Ability to diagnose issues across multiple layers: AI model behaviour, integrations, network, device, cloud.

  • A deeply technical TAM in SaaS/AI/IoT
