Hybrid/Remote: London office, flexible days (1-2 per week). This PropTech business is building a group of strong, locally-led property management businesses; acquiring and backing established operators, then giving them shared tech and operations infrastructure while preserving what makes each one work.
If you have Python + FastAPI experience working as a backend engineer who thrives in fast-growth environments, can own services end-to-end, and use agentic development workflows to ship faster, then read on! This role will see you work on the core applications powering the business! Genuine roll-up story, still early: you would be building the CRM and finance systems that hold the group together, not maintaining what’s already there. Small, high-ownership engineering team; no legacy bureaucracy, no over-engineering culture. If you want visible impact on systems people actually rely on, this is that role!
What you’ll do:
- Build and own production services in Python/FastAPI — not patch someone else’s
- Ship fast using agentic AI tools (think Claude Code, Cursor) as core to how you work, not a bolt-on
- Operate with real autonomy in a lean team, end-to-end ownership of what you build
What you bring:
- Production Python + FastAPI experience = non-negotiable
- Scaleup DNA: you’ve lived through a Series A/B (or comparable) growth phase and know how to ship under ambiguity
- Agentic dev workflows are already part of your daily practice, not something you’re 'trying out'
- You own your own testing and quality, no separate QA safety net required
