London + Significant UK travel during kick-off and data-mapping phases of each integration
Our client is a VC-backed, AI-enabled acquirer of property services businesses - the UK's first roll-up of its kind in residential block management. They have completed their first wave of acquisitions, with more in the pipeline.
Every acquisition brings a data migration. Different systems, different standards, different levels of rigour. Until now, this work has been spread across several people managing it alongside their day jobs. They are hiring one dedicated owner to run it end to end.
The successful candidate will be the single person responsible for data migration across all acquisitions - from kick-off through to go-live. They will work to a circa 60-day migration standard, driving to that timeline and compressing it where possible. This is not a pure coordination role. Around 80% of a migration can be automated; the remaining 20% is hands-on data work - and this person will be doing it. Profiling messy source data, making field-mapping calls, chasing down shadow systems, validating records line by line.
The role sits at the centre of a three-way relationship: acquired businesses, an external migration platform partner, and internal product, finance and operations teams.
What You Will Do
- Own each migration end to end - kick-off, data discovery, mapping, sandbox review, go-live
- Be the single point of contact across acquired businesses, the migration partner, and internal teams
- Build a data-requirements playbook so requirements are captured upfront, not piecemeal
- Capture institutional knowledge from key people before they transition out post-completion
- Refine templates, standards and checklists after every migration, working toward a single repeatable approach
- At scale, run two to three migrations concurrently
What They Are Looking For
- Technically comfortable with data structures, field mapping, transformation logic and source systems - able to lead a data conversation without needing to be a software engineer
- Profiles that tend to fit: data analyst, technical PM, systems/implementation specialist, data migration or conversion specialist
- Organised across parallel workstreams and methodical under pressure
- A strong relationship builder - able to build trust quickly inside a business they have only just walked into, from branch staff to founders
- Willing to do the unglamorous 20% personally rather than hand it off
- Happy to travel during intensive kick-off and mapping phases
Bonus Points
- Experience in property, block management, financial services or other data-heavy services
- Experience inside an acquisitive or roll-up operating model
- Familiarity with data migration tooling or working alongside a migration platform partner
What Is On Offer
- A pivotal early hire role in one of the UK's most ambitious PropTech businesses
- High autonomy and direct exposure to founders and functional leaders
- £50,000 - £70,000 basic
- All travel expenses covered
