The Opportunity
A leading contractor within the UK water sector is seeking an experienced Senior CAD Technician to join their team supporting major water and wastewater infrastructure projects in the Eastern region.
Based in Peterborough, this is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled CAD professional with strong experience in the water sector to contribute to the delivery of complex infrastructure projects, working alongside multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams.
The Role
As a Senior CAD Technician, you will be responsible for producing, managing and coordinating high-quality 2D and 3D CAD drawings throughout the project lifecycle.
You will work closely with engineers, designers, surveyors and construction teams to interpret technical information and develop accurate drawings suitable for construction and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and manage detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings using Auto CAD.
- Prepare site layout, drainage, general arrangement and construction detail drawings.
- Produce long sections and cross sections for infrastructure projects.
- Interpret engineering designs, specifications and topographical survey information.
- Utilise Civil 3D, Revit and GIS data to support design development.
- Work within construction cloud environments and digital project platforms.
- Support multidisciplinary design coordination and clash detection.
- Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to ensure drawings meet project requirements.
- Apply CAD standards, procedures and best practices across project deliverables.
- Contribute to projects delivered under NEC contracts.
- Produce accurate technical information for construction and site teams.
About You
The successful candidate will have extensive experience working as a CAD Technician within the construction, civil engineering or water sector, with a strong technical understanding of infrastructure design and drawing production.
- You will ideally have experience across water and wastewater projects, including:
- Sewer networks
- Pumping stations
- Water/wastewater treatment works
- Drainage and associated infrastructure
You should also have proven experience with
- Auto CAD
- Civil 3D
- Revit
- Topographical survey and GIS data
- Multidisciplinary design coordination
- Clash detection
- Construction cloud environments
- NEC contract environments
Qualifications & Certifications
An Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP) qualification in one or more of the following would be highly desirable:
- Auto CAD
- Civil 3D
- Revit
