We're looking for an experienced Project Manager to deliver multiple civil infrastructure projects from design through to completion within the United Utilities catchment area. You'll be responsible for programme, cost, quality, and HSEQ performance while working closely with estimating, commercial, and site teams to exceed client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver projects safely, on programme, and to maximum commercial performance
- Manage project costs, forecasts, and reporting, providing regular updates to senior management
- Lead projects from design phase through to handover, including all close-out documentation
- Develop and manage construction programmes and site resources
- Chair site meetings and maintain accurate project records
- Manage work packages, site investigations, and engineering solutions
- Maintain strong commercial control, including change management and additional works
- Support tendering activities and development of new client relationships
Health, Safety & Environmental
- Lead by example in HS&E performance and compliance
- Ensure all HSE documentation, training, and briefings are up to date
- Manage subcontractor compliance with statutory and company requirements
- Ensure environmental plans and risk assessments are produced and maintained
- Liaise with third parties to ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards
Quality
- Produce and manage ITPs and QA documentation
- Close out technical queries and ensure as-builts and O&M manuals are completed
Performance Measures
- Contract and reporting timescales achieved
- Business unit and KPI targets met
- Safe and compliant project delivery
About You
Essential
- Proven experience delivering civil infrastructure projects (water/rail/process environments advantageous)
- Strong knowledge of NEC contracts, CDM regulations, design, programme, and risk management
- Experience managing complex works (including shaft sinking)
- Proficient in Primavera P6 (or equivalent)
- Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
- CSCS (Manager), SMSTS, NEBOSH Construction
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Experience managing direct labour
Desirable
- CEng MICE
- Knowledge of JCT contracts
