A leading UK civil engineering and infrastructure contractor is seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of a long-term programme of essential water infrastructure investment.

The role will provide commercial leadership across a varied portfolio of civil engineering projects, ranging from approximately £200k to more than £10m.

You will work closely with project delivery teams, clients, subcontractors and senior management to manage cost and value, identify commercial opportunities, mitigate risk and support successful project outcomes.

The position is remote-first, with travel required approximately once per week.

As Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will be a key member of the project team, providing clear commercial advice and helping to ensure that projects are delivered efficiently, profitably and in line with contractual requirements.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Leading the commercial management of civil engineering and infrastructure projects from procurement through to final account.
  • Managing, supporting and training the quantity surveying team with involvement in recruitment and development.
  • Preparing and maintaining monthly CVRs, cost plans and commercial action plans.
  • Working with project delivery teams to improve efficiency, manage expenditure and maximise cash recovery

About you You will be an experienced Quantity Surveyor who is ready to take ownership of significant commercial responsibilities and contribute at a senior level within project teams.

You will bring experience of

  • Commercial management within the construction, civil engineering or infrastructure sector.
  • Cost reporting, forecasting and financial analysis.
  • Working collaboratively with operational teams, clients and supply chain partners.
