We are recruiting experienced LV/HV Authorised Personnel to support electricity network operations and infrastructure projects across the South of England.
Opportunities are available for:
- Senior Authorised Persons (SAP) – CAT 4
- Authorised Persons (AP) – CAT 3
- LV / 11kV Delivery Engineers
Mandatory Requirement
Only candidates with current or previous SSEN / SSE authorisations will be considered. Applications must clearly show:
- Network Operator authorisation (SSEN / SSE or equivalent UK DNO)
- Authorisation level (CAT 3 / CAT 4 / SAP / AP)
- Voltage level authorised (11kV / 33kV etc.)
- Scope of authorisation including switching, isolations, permits, earthing control, and safety documentation where applicable
Candidates without formal DNO authorisation cannot be considered.
Senior Authorised Person (SAP) – CAT 4
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute HV/LV switching operations
- Control isolations and earthing arrangements
- Issue and cancel PTWs, Sanctions for Test, and Limitations of Access
- Interface with Network Control Engineers
- Lead operational teams during planned works and fault response
- Compliance with SSEN Operational Safety Rules and Safe Systems of Work
Requirements
- Current or previous SSEN / SSE CAT 4 SAP Authorisation
- Minimum 11kV SAP Authorisation
- Strong UK DNO operational experience
- HV/LV switching and fault management experience
- Full UK Driving Licence
Authorised Person (AP) – CAT 3
Responsibilities
- Carry out HV/LV switching and isolation activities
- Prepare and manage safety documentation
- Support planned outages and restoration activities
- Coordinate with SAPs and Network Control
- Ensure compliance with SSEN Operational Safety Rules
Requirements
- Current or previous SSEN / SSE CAT 3 AP Authorisation
- Experience within UK DNO environments
- HV/LV switching experience
- Strong understanding of operational safety procedures
- Full UK Driving Licence
LV / 11kV Delivery Engineer
Responsibilities
- Deliver LV/HV capital works and switchgear maintenance
- Support planned works and fault response activities
- Carry out LV/HV switching operations
- Manage contractors and site teams
- Mentor junior operational staff
- Ensure work is delivered safely, on time, and to required standards
Requirements
- LV Authorisation including LV Fault Management
- Minimum 11kV SAP Authorisation
- Experience in LV/HV fault management
- Overhead and underground network experience up to 11kV
- Strong knowledge of utility industry procedures
- Full UK Driving Licence
