The Role
You will play a key role in developing accurate, competitive estimates for self-delivered civil engineering projects, working closely with operational teams to ensure projects are commercially viable and deliverable.
This is a hands-on estimating position suited to someone who enjoys getting involved at an early stage, visiting sites, understanding construction methodologies, and producing robust first-principles estimates.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed first-principles estimates for civil engineering and water infrastructure projects.
- Undertake site visits to understand scope, buildability, constraints, and project requirements.
- Review drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to develop accurate pricing.
- Work collaboratively with delivery teams to ensure estimates reflect practical construction solutions.
- Support the business in securing future projects through high-quality commercial submissions.
About You
We are looking for an experienced estimator who can bring strong technical knowledge and commercial judgement to the team.
You will ideally have
- Significant experience as a Civils Estimator within the construction industry.
- Proven experience pricing water infrastructure projects (essential).
- Around 15 years' experience within construction, with exposure to civil engineering and ideally some build background.
- Strong first-principles estimating capability.
- Confidence interpreting drawings, specifications, and construction requirements.
- A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail.
