Senior Quantity Surveyor

Our client is a leading Development Consultancy operating throughout the North of England offering Project Management, Quantity Surveying, BIM Leader and Employer\’s Agent services across a number of sectors. Our continued growth has created opportunities in our Eccles, Salford based Quantity Surveying Employer\’s Agent team to work on some of the largest and highest profile projects in the North West.

We are seeking an ambitious and driven candidate who can drive projects from inception through to completion and should preferably have experience of a range of contracts including JCT. Candidates must also be customer focused and have excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills.

Candidates will preferably have a relevant degree, have a technical background appropriate to the core services that our client offers with skills to work across a range of sectors including residential, health, extra care and education projects.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Lead on commercial deliverables throughout the lifecycle of projects
  2. Contract administration and manage change through the contract
  3. Ensure cost control is monitored and maintained throughout all functions (design, procurement and delivery)
  4. Provide support and mentoring to assistant QS\’s
  5. Prepare subcontract tender packages, carry out comparisons and place relevant orders
  6. Provide monthly cost & value forecasts
  7. Support the Lead QS in respect of wider issues

Candidate Specification

  1. Formal Q.S Qualification
  2. Work closely with design and operations within the project team
  3. Experience in a similar role from a design and build background
  4. Good level of QS experience
  5. Good level of experience as an employer\’s agent
  6. Experience in estimating and procurement
  7. Flexibility to travel when required
  8. Knowledge of construction contracts including preliminaries and JCT\’s
  9. Experience in the tender and target cost process and the review of such documents
  10. Strong IT skills with experience of Excel and MS Office
  11. Full clean UK driving license
