We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and coffee-driven Part‑Time Assistant Manager to join our Wandsworth Town Urban Baristas team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about specialty coffee and customer experience and can lead by example on the floor. You will support the daily running of the café while delivering exceptional barista standards and service.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve high‑quality specialty coffee and matcha beverages, maintaining consistency and presentation.
- Deliver strong latte art and uphold Urban Baristas’ beverage quality standards.
- Support the Café Managers with day‑to‑day operations, including opening/closing procedures and shift supervision.
- Lead service during busy periods, ensuring efficiency without compromising quality or the customer experience.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the coffee bar, seating areas, and equipment.
- Arrange and manage food displays, ensuring products are fresh, appealing, and rotated correctly.
- Provide warm, professional customer service and handle customer enquiries or issues confidently.
- Ensure food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards are consistently met.
- Support and mentor team members, fostering a positive and professional café culture.
Skills & Experience
- Previous barista experience is essential, ideally in a specialty or high‑volume café.
- Strong latte art skills and solid knowledge of espresso‑based coffee.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage time effectively in a busy urban café environment.
- Working knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
