To keep up with the sustained volume in our dedicated testing lanes, we are looking for a skilled, self-motivated *Class 4 & 7 MOT Tester* to become an integral part of the Urban Autocare workshop team. *Key Responsibilities* * Carry out objective MOT tests on *Class 4 (passenger cars/light vans)* and *Class 7 (commercial vehicles 3,000 kg – 3,500 kg DGW)* in strict compliance with current DVSA guidelines. * Accurately document test results, advisories, and failure codes directly into the MOT Testing Service (MTS). * Work closely with the Urban Autocare front-of-house team to clearly explain vehicle defects, wear items, and required remedial repairs. * Undertake light mechanical repairs, general servicing, brake/suspension work, and pre-MOT fixes between scheduled tests. * Ensure testing bays, roller brake testers, headlamp aimers, and four-post lifts are kept clean, orderly, and calibrated according to statutory standards. *Requirements & Qualifications* * *Valid DVSA Nominated Tester status for both Class 4 and Class 7* with an active MTS account. * Up-to-date DVSA Annual Assessment and recorded CPD hours for the current training year. * NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent proven time-served experience). * Full UK driving licence with experience manoeuvring LCVs safely around workshop grounds. * Own hand/power tools suitable for light servicing and repair work. * Strong diagnostic intuition, punctuality, and an eye for compliance and safety. *Benefits & Package* * Competitive basic salary reflecting dual-class certification. * 28 days paid holiday (inclusive of bank holidays). * Workplace pension scheme. * Fully funded annual DVSA refresher training and assessment fees. * Significant staff discounts on vehicle parts, servicing, tyres, and MOTs. * Clean, well-equipped, automated test lane (ATL) environment. * High-grade Urban Autocare workwear and PPE provided.
