Data Scientist / Quant Researcher

$20bn Discretionary Hedge Fund

We are looking for an elite data scientist to work on a centralised team at a major Macro Hedge Fund. You will be designing, developing and refining tools that incorporate alternative data and macro data into investment analysis and trading pipelines.

This is an opportunity to work with one of the best investors on the street in a uniquely collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse raw data: assess quality, cleanse, structure for downstream processing
  • Design accurate and scalable prediction algorithms
  • Collaborate with engineering team to bring analytical prototypes to production
  • Develop expertise in alternative datasets and 3rd party data sources, and share this expertise across the company

Qualifications

  • Currently working in institutional finance, ideally at a hedge fund, asset manager or trading firm
  • Bachelor\’s degree or equivalent experience in quantitative field (Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) [ideally postgrad qualifications]
  • At least 2-3 years\’ of experience in quantitative analytics or data modelling [experienced candidates welcome to apply]
  • Fluency in Python, plus related skills across Excel, SQL
