What you’ll do:

  • Lead regulatory oversight: Stay abreast of developments from the FCA, DWP, and HMRC, assessing their impact on Upvest’s SIPP offerings.
  • Solve complex technical queries: Act as the escalation point for technical referrals from our clients, ensuring clear resolution of complex pension cases.
  • Drive product compliance: Work with internal stakeholders to analyse legislative changes especially with regards to Pensions Dashboard, and support the implementation of required updates to procedures and training notes.
  • Enhance governance: Identify emerging risks within the SIPP market and support the delivery of strong governance solutions to mitigate poor customer outcomes.
  • Coach and develop: Deliver technical training to staff, proactively contributing to the development of training materials to raise the "pension IQ" across the organisation.
  • Manage external relationships: Serve as a key technical point of contact for external partners and professional financial advice firms when required. Act as a representative of Upvest at industry events.

What you’ll bring:

  • Deep Pension Expertise: Thorough knowledge of HMRC and FCA rules as they apply specifically to SIPPs and the wider UK pensions market.
  • Regulatory Analysis Skills: Proven experience in analysing legislative changes and translating them into clear, actionable operational procedures.
  • Technical Problem-Solving: Experience in handling complex SIPP technical issues and resolving technical queries in a fast-paced environment.
  • Stakeholder Management: Strong communication of technical requirements to internal and external stakeholders, including engineering and product teams.
  • Self-Starter Mentality: A highly organised approach with the ability to work independently, prioritise appropriately, and thrive under pressure.

Qualifications (Desirable): Relevant industry certifications such as DipPFS, APMI, or equivalent professional pension qualifications.
