Help us reach the young people others miss. Where you grow up should not decide how far you get. For too many young people, it still does. This role helps us change that. We are rethinking how we deliver our work, how we use technology, and how we reach young people who do not know about us yet. We want someone to take all of that on, ask hard questions about how we do things today, and find better ways.

About Uptree: Uptree helps young people get a fair start to their careers, whatever their backgrounds. We work with employers to give students real experience of work. That kind of experience usually goes to young people who already have the right contacts. We open it up to everyone. Most of the students we work with come from low socioeconomic and underrepresented backgrounds. Each year we reach more than 300,000 students. Over our first ten years, more than a million people have used the Uptree platform. Today we work with over 800 schools, and more than 140,000 students are registered with us. Employers pay for our work, so we are a business, not a charity.

Role Overview:

  • Location: London, South East, or East of England.
  • Contract: Full time, 12 month FTC, August 2026 to July 2027 with potential to become permanent.
  • Type of role: Operations and delivery.
  • Salary: £40,000 to £45,000, dependent on experience.

What you will own in your first year:

  • Getting delivery sharp: Our programmes run across the UK, in person and online, and they need to run brilliantly every time. You will own how they are delivered, from student attendance and Day One to Day Two retention through to the trackers that tell us how we are doing. You will manage our network of freelance Associate Facilitators, and act as our day‑to‑day safeguarding lead for delivery.
  • Reaching the young people we do not reach yet: Some of the students our partners need are not on our platform today, and you will own how we change that. You will lead our digital marketing strategy across socials, newsletters and targeted communications, and test new ways to reach a wider and more representative group of young people, including paid social media.
  • Leading a small team through change: This is a hands‑on role where you will carry your own delivery responsibilities alongside managing the team, not instead of them. You will line‑manage two Outreach and Delivery Managers, helping them work differently, take real ownership of their deliverables, and grow.

Success Criteria:

  • You are a proven programme or project manager who can hold many moving parts at once and still keep things on track.
  • You instinctively challenge how things are done, and you back it up by building the better way rather than just naming the problem.
  • You know digital marketing well enough to own the strategy, and you understand how to reach audiences who are not already engaging with you while also driving increased activity amongst your existing audience.
  • You lead people generously, with honest feedback and a real investment in their growth.
  • You are comfortable with new tools, including AI and automation, and you enjoy making work simpler.
  • You care about social mobility and who gets access to opportunity.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in edtech, social impact or a mission‑driven organisation.
  • A background in education, early careers or youth‑focused work.
  • Experience reaching low socioeconomic and underrepresented audiences at scale.
  • Familiarity with the UK schools landscape in England and Scotland.
  • Two or more years of people management experience.

What we offer:

  • MacBook provided and support with home office equipment.
  • 28 days annual leave, flexible public holiday policy of 8 days, plus a Christmas week long closure.
  • Annual leave increases up to 30 days with long service after 2 years, plus a holiday purchase scheme of up to 5 extra days via salary sacrifice.
  • Flexible working hours: you take ownership over how you get your work done.
  • Summer working hours: finish at 1pm on Fridays each July and August.
  • 30 bookable nomad working days outside the UK each year within the EEA.
  • Access to hundreds of co‑working spaces across the UK and Europe through our partner Hubble.
  • Enhanced parental leave: up to 17 weeks full pay maternity leave after 4 years of service, and up to 6 weeks paternity pay.
  • Paid eye test yearly.
  • 30,000 plus deals and discounts via CharlieHR Perks.
  • An inclusive, values driven team that genuinely cares about the work we do.
