About JTP Accountancy & Tax Services: JTP Accountancy & Tax Services is a fast-growing, independent accountancy practice based in Eastbourne, established in 2018 and led by founder and director Jack Porter. The firm works with a wide range of owner-managed businesses and entrepreneurs, including clients in hospitality, property, construction, professional services, e-commerce, beauty, and sport. JTP is known for being commercially minded, relationship-led and proactive, rather than purely compliance-driven. JTP has grown rapidly in recent years and continues to invest heavily in:

  • People and culture
  • Technology and systems
  • Advisory-led client relationships

The firm operates with a collaborative team structure, combining in-house staff with outsourced support where appropriate, allowing senior team members to focus on client relationships, quality and value-add work rather than volume processing. JTP is a Xero-focused practice with strong systems and workflows in place and a clear vision for continued growth. Senior team members are trusted, supported, and given real autonomy as the firm scales.

The Role: We are recruiting an ACA or ACCA qualified Client Manager with practice experience to take ownership of a portfolio of SME clients and play a key role in JTP’s next phase of growth. This is a senior, hands-on role, combining technical delivery, client relationship management, and internal leadership. The Client Manager sits between the delivery team and the director and is trusted to manage clients day to day while contributing to improvements across the firm. This is not a high-pressure sales role. Billing is handled centrally, allowing the focus to remain on delivery quality, client experience, and sustainable growth.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Client Accounting & Compliance: Preparing and managing statutory accounts, corporation tax returns, VAT returns, CIS submissions, and personal tax returns. Acting as the main point of contact for client queries. Ensuring work is completed accurately and on time. Liaising with HMRC where required.
  • Management Accounts & Advisory: Preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts for a portfolio of clients. Reviewing bookkeeping and underlying records. Explaining management accounts clearly and confidently to clients. Identifying trends, issues, and advisory opportunities. Supporting advisory discussions with directors where appropriate.
  • Systems & Software: Confident use of Xero, QuickBooks, and IRIS. Reviewing bookkeeping quality and controls. Applying a good working knowledge of payroll and liaising with payroll colleagues as needed.
  • Client Relationship Management: Acting as the trusted day-to-day contact for SME clients. Managing client expectations and resolving issues professionally. Supporting the onboarding of new clients. Ensuring a consistently high-quality client experience aligned with JTP standards.
  • Internal Contribution: Supporting and mentoring junior staff. Contributing to improvements in processes, templates, and workflows. Working collaboratively across the firm. Representing JTP professionally internally and externally.

The Ideal Candidate: We are looking for someone who:

  • Is ACA or ACCA qualified.
  • Has accountancy practice experience.
  • Has experience as a Client Manager, Senior Accountant or similar.
  • Has strong technical knowledge across accounts, corporation tax, VAT, CIS, and personal tax.
  • Is confident preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts.
  • Has strong working knowledge of Xero, QuickBooks, and IRIS.
  • Has a good understanding of payroll.
  • Is organised, reliable, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally with clients.
  • Enjoys taking ownership and being trusted with responsibility.

Salary, Benefits & Progression: Base salary: £50,000. Quarterly performance bonus (up to £2500 a quarter) or no bonuses and a salary of £55,000. Long-term commission opportunity linked to clients personally introduced. Clear progression opportunities as the firm grows. Supportive, collaborative working environment. For senior team members who demonstrate sustained high performance, there is the potential to move to a 4-day working week in the longer term (typically after 12–18 months), subject to performance and business needs.

Why Join JTP? This role is ideal for an ACA/ACCA qualified accountant in practice who wants:

  • A senior, hands-on client role.
  • Autonomy without micromanagement.
  • Exposure to a varied SME client base.
  • Recognition for performance, initiative, and contribution.
  • Long-term progression within a growing, ambitious firm.

This is a senior Client Manager role within a fast-growing, advisory-led practice, ideal for an ACA/ACCA qualified accountant who wants real responsibility, strong systems, and long-term progression. Parking, Laptop, Mobile - Immediately. Private health and other perks - after probation.
