Job Summary: Contracted to Upstream Risk Management, you will be permanently embedded within Amazon’s Leo Ground Security Team. This team sits within Amazon Leo’s Ground Infrastructure Services. Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world. The Project Based Contractor is a technical project manager, responsible for enabling the rapid expansion planned for Amazon Leo in 2026 – 2028. You will achieve this by applying your project management and technical security skills to the detail of planning, installation, integration, management, and maintenance of technical security at Ground Gateway Sites across Europe, Middle East and Africa.
We are looking for a team member who embodies the Amazon Leadership Principles. Exceptional customer focus is non-negotiable. Strong technical skills, project and stakeholder management are pivotal to success. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate data-based decision making, strong understanding of cost-benefit analysis, and a track record of program optimization. This is an on-site role so you must be within commutable distance of an Amazon Corporate site (expected to be LHR16 (EC2A 2FA) and expect five days per week in the office, though a hybrid role may be possible. International travel should be expected. This travel could be to remote areas of the Middle East and Africa.
Key responsibilities include:
- End-to-end management of complex, high-value projects, including managing multiple concurrent projects.
- Collaborating with partners, internal customers, and vendors to analyse needs, plan and implement the installation, integration, and optimisation of technical security aspects at sites.
- Establish, monitor, and report on project budgets, timelines and KPIs.
- Identify data/reporting requirements, integrate data sets, and configure and run reports to track work priorities, issues, results, and meaningful trends.
- Establish self-service reporting and guidance for customers where possible.
- Support Monthly and Quarterly Business Report preparation and presentations.
- Manage supplier/vendor relationships to ensure third-party inputs are delivered to standard, on time and budget.
- Drive continuous improvement by evaluating all aspects of the project cycle, making recommendations for, and implementing new initiatives for optimising customer experience.
- Conducting security assessments of new sites and making recommendations to the Senior Leo Ground Security Manager.
About You:
Knowledge and Experience:
- Detailed technical knowledge and hands-on experience of design and installation of enterprise-level security systems (essential).
- Minimum of four years security industry experience, with a significant portion of industry tenure spent as a consultant, integrator, or technical end user (essential).
- Working knowledge of Lenel, with experience of performing basic functions such as device adds/changes/deletions/masking/unmasking, access level programming and assignment, time zone programming (highly desirable).
- Writing security standards and procedures (highly desirable).
Skills:
- End-to-end project management, ability to follow and implement design and installation standards, including multiple concurrent projects.
- Stakeholder management, serving as an advocate for design and implementation standards.
- Budgeting and cost-benefit analysis.
- Communication across borders and cultures (analytical written, and verbal presentation, and interpersonal skills).
- Data analysis and problem solving.
- Risk Assessment.
- Strong proficiency in the MS Office suite, Lenel and other key security systems.
