The Role: We are seeking a Facilities Technician with an Electrical bias to oversee the operation and maintenance of our facility systems, ensuring our production environment remains world‑class. This role will involve travel between our two UK sites in Kelso and Livingston so you must hold a full driving licence and be able to travel as and when required. As a Facilities Technician, you will be the backbone of our site operations. Your primary mission is to ensure that all facility systems from complex electrical grids to HVAC and plumbing are optimized to support continuous manufacturing.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Systems Maintenance: Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical, HVAC, lighting, and plumbing systems.
- Electrical Expertise: Install hardware and maintain single and three‑phase electrical systems.
- Preventive Maintenance: Lead and document PM programs to proactively identify risks and prevent downtime.
- Fabrication & Support: Design and fabricate machinery support equipment, including welded racking and material handling items.
- Collaboration: Work alongside the equipment support team to install or reconfigure production resources and provide oversight to external contractors.
Education & Qualifications: Must hold a current 18th Edition (BS 7671) certification, ensuring all work meets the latest electrical safety and wiring standards. A minimum of 5 years of hands‑on facility or industrial maintenance experience (7+ years strongly preferred). Ability to confidently read, interpret, and troubleshoot complex electrical wiring diagrams and schematics. A strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to handle fabrication, assembly, and physical repairs alongside electrical tasks.
