Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the children’s home.
  • Lead, supervise, and support staff to maintain high standards of care.

Safeguarding & Care

  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people.
  • Ensure care plans are implemented effectively and reviewed regularly.
  • Support children with emotional, behavioural, educational, and social development needs.
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, schools, and external agencies.
  • Ensure safeguarding concerns are reported and managed appropriately.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure the home complies with Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, Safeguarding legislation, and Ofsted requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records, policies, and reports.
  • Prepare for and manage Ofsted inspections.

Partnership Working

  • Liaise with local authorities, social workers, education providers, and healthcare professionals.
  • Attend meetings, reviews, and professional forums as required.

Essential Qualifications

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
