Job Location: Polar Speed UPS, Unit 2 Glover Network Industrial Estate, Spire Road, Washington, Tyne & Wear, NE37 3HB

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 to 55 hours per week, 6.30am or 7.30am start

Salary: £26,442 P/A based on 40 hours, £36,350 P/A based on 55 hours, £12.71 per hour Monday to Friday, overtime worked on weekends and bank holidays £19.06 per hour

Job Purpose And Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the scanning of packages and pallets to your delivery vehicle
  • Manage the safe and secure loading of all consignments to your vehicle
  • Conduct daily diligence on vehicle safety checks and refrigeration unit
  • Report any issues found on vehicle checks to line manager prior to despatch
  • Ensure vehicle is in temperature prior to loading
  • Delivery and collection of pharmaceutical consignments to GP Surgeries, Retail Pharmacies, Hospitals, Wholesalers, and Home Delivery Patients
  • Correct completion of EPOD/APOD, driver manifest, collection, refusal paperwork
  • Managing the returns process
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the company vehicle
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the company uniform and ensure correct PPE is worn, safety boots, high viz

Specialised Knowledge And Requirements

  • Minimum category B drivers licence with ideally no more than 3 points
  • Minimum 2 Years Driving Experience, Including Motorway Driving
  • Previous home and/or hospital/temperature controlled delivery experience advantageous but not essential
  • Good communication skills
  • Team player mentality with ability to work on own initiative
  • Must be able to build effective working relationships with management team, colleagues, and other departments across the network
  • Must be able to build effective working relationships with clients
  • Must appreciate the need for maintaining confidentiality

For successful candidates, Polar Speed will run an enhanced DBS check, plus minimum of 3 years referencing.
