Responsibilities:
- Support the warehouse manager.
- Effectively manage the day-to-day operations of the warehouse team to meet demand and overall workload, as well as motivate, train, and continually focus on the professional development of the warehouse staff.
- Monitor staff performance and carry out team briefings.
- Manage the time and attendance of the staff within the Polar Speed company protocols.
- Ensure picking, checking and packing of cold chain and ambient pharmaceutical products are fulfilled.
- Assist in the continuous improvement of processes and procedures within the warehouse staff and facilities.
- Plan, co-ordinate and monitor the receipt, storage and dispatch of goods.
- Monitor priority emails to assign work.
- Ensure team prepare inventory for deliveries and shipping.
- Track and ensure deliveries are received.
- Ensure team keep updated inventory records.
- Stock analysis when required.
- Providing detailed reports when required.
- Assist with the collection of data and report warehouse key performance indicators.
- Write deviations when required.
- Monitor temperature compliance of all inbound/outbound consignments.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers and other departments.
- Correct completion of all goods in, picking, packing and despatch paperwork when required.
- Enter shipping and inventory data in the warehouse management system when required.
- Manage and co-ordinate stock take and cycle counting activities to ensure the required level of service is provided to the customer.
- Processing of returns (including quarantined, damaged and batch recalls).
- Unloading of client product from collection vehicles ensuring temperature requirements are met.
- Responsible for all product transfers between Leighton Buzzard sites whilst on shift.
- Where possible resolve any issues or problems which occur in the warehouse, where appropriate elevate the issue to a more senior level.
- Ensure staff comply to health and safety and environmental regulations and work safely to protect themselves and others in the warehouse environment.
- Ensure the highest level of hygiene is maintained throughout the warehouse, in accordance with GDP/GMP regulations.
- Report progress updates, key achievements and any concerns to the warehouse supervisor and/or manager.
Accountability:
- Ensuring smooth running of departmental systems, processes and procedures.
- Acting in absence of relevant manager to ensure urgent/important actions are communicated and performed.
- Motivate and manage the warehouse team to assist you in your duties.
- Handling of consignments in an accurate and timely manner ensuring the product stays within the required temperature range.
- Adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands, ability to handle frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
- Following of relevant procedures, outlined in the current standard operations procedures and ensuring that any warehouse briefings are followed.
- Reporting of all accidents/incidents to the line manager.
