Company Overview

Marken, UPS Healthcare Precision Logistics (formerly Marken, MNX & Polar Speed), the clinical and advanced therapy subsidiary of UPS Healthcare, unites expertise across healthcare and complex secure logistics to drive the success of our clients through innovation.

Job Purpose

This role supports Marken UK import & Export shipments.

The Shipping Associate is responsible for overseeing the successful, timely and compliant importation and Exportation of the shipments Marken transports into and out of the UK ensuring compliance with client requirements and Marken Quality Standards.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and process import and export shipping documentation, including customs forms, commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and other required documents.
  • Perform accurate data entry into transportation management systems, customs software, and customer databases.
  • Assist with customs clearance documentation, including B3 entries, LVS processing, and other customs-related requirements.
  • Gather, verify, scan, upload, and maintain shipping and customs documentation in electronic filing systems.
  • Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, warehouses, and internal departments to ensure timely shipment processing.
  • Monitor shipment status and provide updates to customers, partners, and internal teams.
  • Respond to inquiries from customers, carriers, vendors, and branch offices via phone and email.
  • Assist in preparing reports, claims, forms, and shipment records as required.
  • Identify discrepancies in shipping documentation and elevate issues to supervisors or team leads for resolution.
  • Operate scanning and document imaging equipment to maintain organized electronic records.
  • Support daily administrative duties, including photocopying, filing, document preparation, and record management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, customs regulations, and applicable import/export laws.
  • Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in logistics, freight forwarding, customs brokerage, shipping, or import/export operations is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of import/export documentation and customs procedures is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point.
  • Strong data entry and typing skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to review spreadsheets, extract relevant information, and communicate findings accurately.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to accuracy.
  • Customer service-oriented with a professional and positive attitude.
