The security operations at UPS run 24/7, and the successful applicant must be prepared to work outside standard hours and respond to incidents when required, including evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays. The role may involve travel across the region and, on occasion, overnight stays, depending on operational requirements.

What You’ll Do

  • You will work 37.5 hours per week, where flexibility is essential.
  • Prevention of loss to customers' merchandise by assisting operations in providing a quality service and ensuring safe transit through the network.
  • Auditing the implementation and adherence to Operational and Security processes and procedures within UPS Small Package, Freight Forwarding, Contract Logistics facilities and Healthcare facilities.
  • Safeguard our buildings and facilities, vehicles and assets through risk assessment, auditing and implementation of physical security measures.
  • Claim analysis, investigation and reporting of security-related incidents and development of corrective action plans.
  • Lead and implement security-focused projects.
  • Carry out thorough investigations whilst liaising with a variety of departments.
  • On rota for weekend “On Duty Investigator”.

What You’ll Need

  • In-depth knowledge of UPS / logistics operations preferable
  • Educated to A level qualification as a minimum; a University degree is desirable but not essential
  • Experience within the logistics field preferable
  • Excellent working knowledge of computers; Microsoft Word, Excel and E-mail
  • A full clean driving license, current passport and ability to travel to other countries
  • Organisational skills are essential, as is the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Highest level of discretion and integrity with absolute confidentiality
  • Previous work in a Security Investigator role is preferable but not essential
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility to work non-standard hours in line with 24/7 security operations
  • Ability to respond to incidents at short notice
  • Willingness to travel and stay overnight when necessary
  • Professionalism, discretion, and reliability in sensitive situations
