Job Description
- Conduct regular inspections and servicing of conveyor systems to identify and address potential issues before they lead to breakdowns.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on conveyor and facility systems.
- Carry out mechanical maintenance, including bearings, belts, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Work on hydraulic and pneumatic systems used in sortation equipment.
- Assist in the installation of new machinery or facility equipment when required.
- Respond promptly to equipment failures, diagnosing and rectifying faults to minimize downtime.
- Ensure minimal downtime by responding quickly to emergencies.
- Analyze root causes of recurring issues and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for enhancing equipment performance and reliability.
- Participate in projects aimed at upgrading or optimizing sortation systems within the facility.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including service reports and fault logs.
- Provide detailed shift reports to supervisors, highlighting completed tasks and any outstanding issues.
- Adhere to and promote health and safety policies to maintain a safe working environment.
- Monitor the performance and condition of mechanical assets, recommending replacements or upgrades as necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or international equivalent in engineering – Mechanical biased preferred.
- Equipment maintenance experience including mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics and welding - Preferred.
- Proficiency in fault-finding and repair of mechanical systems, including conveyor belts, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Experience in using SCADA systems and other diagnostic tools for troubleshooting - Added advantage.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
