Location: Polar Speed UPS, Unit 2 Glover Network Centre, Glover Industrial Estate, Spire Road, Washington, Tyne and Wear, NE37 3HB
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 - 48 hours per week, 6.30am start. Hours may vary to suit the needs of the business which may be of an urgent medical nature
Hourly Rate: £12.71 per hour Monday to Friday, Weekend and Bank Holidays (Optional) £19.07 per hour
Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the scanning of packages or pallets to your delivery vehicle
- Managing the safe and secure loading of all consignments to your vehicle
- Conducting daily diligence on vehicle safety checks and the refrigeration unit on the vehicle
- Reporting any issues found on the vehicle checks to the line manager prior to despatch
- Ensure the vehicle is always at the correct temperature
- Delivering and collection of pharmaceutical consignments to GP Surgeries, Retail Pharmacies, Hospitals, Wholesalers and Home Delivery Patients
- Physical checking and scanning of all consignments at the delivery point
- Communicating all operational delays or delivery failures to the line manager as soon as possible
- Correct completion of EPOD/driver manifest/collection/refusal paperwork
- Managing the returns process of all consignments entering the local depot by scanning them to the forwarding depots
- Maintain the cleanliness of the company vehicle including cab and chambers
- Maintain the cleanliness of the company uniform and ensure correct PPE is worn, safety shoes/boots, high viz
- Ensure a valid driving licence is maintained and communication of any new offences are reported immediately
Requirements:
- Minimum Category B Drivers Licence with no more than 3 points
- Good communication skills
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work on and use own initiative
- Team player mentality, ability to communicate and collaborate with line managers, colleagues and other departments across the UK network
- Minimum 2 years driving experience including Motorway
- Experience in multi drop deliveries with customer contact
- Previous home and/or hospital delivery experience advantageous but not essential
