This position is responsible for retaining and growing customer business. He/She uses available resources to learn customers’ businesses, identify business needs, and proactively contact customers to position UPS Access Points. This position is responsible for prioritising customer opportunities, focusing attention on accounts with the greatest opportunity and likelihood of success, creating contacts, monitoring contractual compliance, and answering customer questions.
Responsibilities
- Researches customer businesses and prioritises new and lost business opportunities and identifies opportunities for retaining existing customers.
- Questions customers to learn about their businesses and industries, go-to-market strategies, corporate structures, and overall needs.
- Uses knowledge of customers’ businesses to demonstrate how becoming a UPS Access Point can support and help customers achieve their business objectives.
- Follows up on sales leads identified in customer calls and Access Point Candidate Tool-APC to gain more Access Point customers.
- Maintains relationships with customers by assisting them and acting as their advocate in resolving service issues (e.g., claims, damages, etc.) to ensure retention of customers.
- Educates customers to use existing service channels or redirects service issues to expedite problem resolution.
- Researches competitor strategies and capabilities to identify ways to position UPS Access Points advantageously.
- Records and updates account activity (e.g., call notes, vacation status, etc.) to ensure account status is maintained.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a logistics or dispatch environment is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail is essential.
- Ability to work under pressure in a time-sensitive operation.
- Good understanding of operational processes (feeder/gateway experience advantageous).
- Minimum qualification: A-Levels or equivalent.
- Experience in a similar role is desirable.
