We are seeking a Cloud Engineer to join a small but highly capable infrastructure and platform team supporting a large global organisation. This role will focus on the design, deployment, support, and continuous improvement of cloud infrastructure and automation capabilities within Microsoft Azure. The successful candidate will work across a broad range of cloud and infrastructure technologies, contributing to operational support, platform engineering, automation, governance, and infrastructure-as-code initiatives. This is a hands-on technical role with opportunities to grow capability in Terraform and cloud automation practices. This is a fully remote position.
Key Responsibilities- Support and maintain enterprise cloud infrastructure hosted in Azure
- Assist in the development and management of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform
- Contribute to cloud platform engineering initiatives, including automation, governance, security, and operational improvement
- Work with Azure networking, identity, monitoring, policy, and security services
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell and Python
- Support CI/CD and deployment processes using Azure DevOps
- Administer and support Linux-based systems and cloud-hosted workloads
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to deliver reliable cloud solutions
- Participate in incident resolution, root cause analysis, and continuous service improvement activities
- Contribute to technical documentation, standards, and operational procedures
- Experience supporting and administering Azure cloud environments
- Understanding of core Azure services including networking, identity, monitoring, and security
- Exposure to Infrastructure as Code concepts and practical experience with Terraform
- Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell and/or Python
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps and CI/CD practices
- Experience supporting Linux systems in enterprise environments
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently within a small technical team
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience with Azure governance and policy management
- Understanding of cloud security best practices
- Exposure to cost optimisation and operational efficiency initiatives
- Experience contributing to cloud transformation or modernisation projects
- Knowledge of enterprise operational and support processes
