Job Location: Polar Speed UPS, 7 Chartmoor Road, Site 2, Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, LU7 4WG

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. Hours: 08:00 hrs - 18:30 hrs flexibility is required to suit the needs of the business which may be of an urgent medical nature.

Salary: £40,468.16 P/A, based on 40 hours per week, £19.46 per hour.

Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the scanning of packages or pallets to your delivery vehicle.
  • Ensuring the safe and secure loading of all consignments to your vehicle using the appropriate equipment.
  • Assisting with the loading and unloading of deliveries.
  • Ensuring the vehicle is always kept at the correct temperature.
  • Conducting vehicle safety checks as outlined in documentation provided including the refrigeration unit on the vehicle.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of both the cab and chambers.
  • Reporting all defects as per the defect reporting process.
  • Adherence to all legislation governing HGV driving in the UK & IRL.
  • Always demonstrating a professional and safe driving competency.
  • Always being smart and presentable.
  • Delivering and collecting of pharmaceutical consignments to addresses including GP Surgeries, Retail Pharmacies, Hospitals, and Wholesalers.

Specialized Knowledge and Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years driving experience, including Motorway experience.
  • Must hold a Class 1 Category Driving Licence, ideally no more than 3 points.
  • Driver certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) qualification in date.
  • Previous relevant experience is advantageous.
  • Previous temperature control experience is advantageous but not essential.
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to prioritize.
  • Team player mentality, whilst being able to work on your own initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills with colleagues and clients.

For successful candidates, Polar Speed will run enhanced DBS checks, and referencing checks for a minimum of 3 years.
