Shift Manager Monday to Friday, (40 hours a week) Based at Polar Speed Distribution Ltd, Unit 10 The Hub, Nobel Way, Birmingham, B6 7EU.

  • Smooth operation of transport and warehouse hub activities.
  • Site security whilst on shift.
  • Ensure temperature-controlled areas remain within required temperature parameters.
  • Ensure vehicle and site temperature alerts are monitored.
  • Report and site repairs identified to senior site manager.
  • Liaise with hub and depots as necessary to facilitate efficient network performance.
  • Ensure timely despatch and debrief of inbound and outbound trunk vehicles to avoid disruption to the network.
  • Manage sortation, load and unload processes to reduce hub sort errors.
  • Monitor scanning performance and ensure all orders are scanned to trunk vehicles.
  • Manage quarantine and relabelling processes.
  • Manage night trunk routes and ensure they are running on time as per the network schedule.
  • Take mitigation actions to deal with any trunk or collection delays.
  • Ensure loading of Arvato and morning HGV routes.
  • Manage scanning of final mile routes.
  • Ensure allocation of HGV drivers and vehicles on the transport management system.
  • Operator licence compliance.
  • Arrange vehicle repairs at point of identification to minimise off road impact.
  • Staff resource, absence and holiday management.
  • Ensure agency drivers are trained and briefed in temperature management with necessary training paperwork completed and filed.
  • Monitor temperature of trunk routes, paying particular attention to routes covered by agency.
  • Deal with staff issues, conducting investigations or disciplinaries where required.
  • Conduct return to work interviews and accident investigations as required.
  • Report any non-conformances and take necessary steps to mitigate any risk to patient or product integrity.
  • Complete deviation control information form and damage inspection report as required.
  • Ensure the timely completion of NCR actions and complaints.
  • Undertake any task as deemed appropriate as directed by the senior site manager.
