The Air Export Clerk within the Air Freight Operations department is responsible for coordinating and managing export air freight shipments from booking through to final departure, ensuring all shipments are processed accurately, compliantly, and in line with customer and airline requirements.

What You'll Do
- Export Operations
- Coordinate international air export shipments from collection through to airline departure.
- Create and manage export files within CargoWise/CW1 or operational systems.
- Arrange collections with transport providers and monitor shipment progress.
- Book cargo with airlines and handling agents to meet required transit times.
- Prepare and check export documentation including HAWB/MAWB, Commercial invoices, Packing lists, Export customs declarations, and Security screening documentation.
- Ensure all shipment details including weights, dimensions, routing, and descriptions are accurate.
- Send pre-alerts and shipping documentation to overseas offices and customers.
- Monitor flight departures and ensure all milestones are updated correctly within operational systems.
- Resolve operational issues including delays, offloads, customs holds, or documentation discrepancies.
- Customer Service & Communication
- Provide proactive updates and high levels of customer service.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, overseas offices, airlines, and suppliers.
- Communicate shipment delays or issues professionally and promptly.
- Handle customer queries and operational escalations effectively.
- Compliance & Quality
- Ensure compliance with aviation security regulations and export customs requirements.
- Follow all company SOPs and customer‑specific instructions.
- Ensure dangerous goods and healthcare shipments are handled in accordance with regulations and procedures where applicable.
- Maintain accurate shipment records and audit trails.
- Billing & Financial Responsibilities
- Ensure operational costs and sell rates are entered accurately into systems.
- Support timely and accurate billing of shipments.
- Check supplier invoices and highlight discrepancies where required.
- Assist in reducing operational losses through accurate processing and cost control.
What You'll Need
- Experience within freight forwarding or air freight export operations preferred.
- Knowledge of export procedures and airline booking processes.
- Understanding of customs export documentation and compliance.
- Experience using CargoWise, CW1, or similar freight forwarding systems desirable.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and work under pressure.
- Good attention to detail and problem‑solving ability.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
This is a full‑time position, working from 09:00‑17:30 with 1 hour lunch break from Monday to Friday. Employee Type Permanent.
