The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented team player who will be the first point of contact for visitors at the office, greeting them in a polite and well-spoken manner. You will also be assigned duties as required, including the organization of inbound and outbound mail, administrative work, and general clerical support.
Responsibilities:
- Answer and direct phone calls to the correct Fee Earner
- Distribute mail (incoming and outgoing)
- Act as first point of contact for visitors
- Opening new Criminal and Civil files
- Diarising and checking against LEAP and Common Platform for Criminal clients
- Typing letters / attendance notes from dictation sent from the Fee Earner for Criminal and Civil
- Back chasing when Practice Manager is on leave
- Reviewing Court lists when Practice Manager is on leave
- Sending instructions to medical practitioners for Civil clients
- Gaining medical records for Civil clients
- Assistance for preparation for litigation for Civil clients
- Instructions for Counsel for Civil clients
- Checking Claims portals for Civil clients
- Creating Legal Aid packs for Fee Earners for Criminal department
- Checking the Enquiries inbox and forwarding the email to the correct department
- Booking appointments for Fee Earners and clients
- Taking payments from clients using the card machine
- Making refreshments for staff and clients
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or relevant work experience
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude
