We are seeking a reliable and qualified Gas Engineer to undertake maintenance tasks across the Uppingham School estate. You will be responsible for repairs to domestic and commercial heating systems in a range of buildings and will conduct periodic servicing and maintenance of boiler systems, PRVs, and expansion vessels, completing all works in accordance with gas safe regulations.
To keep track of your work, you will use the school's computer aided facilities management system, using a tablet to receive, respond to, and complete jobs with correct notes and recommendations. You will also be involved in heating replacement projects with support from the wider Estates team, including the installation of new pipework, services and fittings.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will need practical knowledge and experience of working with heating and ventilation systems, water hygiene, and plumbing. A thorough understanding of gas legislation and knowledge and understanding of developing heat pump technology and heating system controls is equally important. You will also be experienced in a variety of pipework; iron, copper, lead, plastic and associated fittings, and will have good awareness of health & safety regulations, including COSHH, asbestos awareness, and safe working practices.
The following qualifications are also essential requirements for this role:
- Current ACS qualifications or equivalent: CCN1, CENWAT & HTR1
- City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3 in a relevant mechanical discipline or equivalent experience
- Gas Safe Registered
- Valid UK Driving Licence
