Job Purpose
To provide Engineering Managerial support to the Engineering team within the plant, and to improve maintenance effectiveness and Engineering service levels.
Role Accountabilities
- Responsibility for the Engineering Department to ensure that Health & Safety policies and procedures are followed and maintained in line with all SSOW and SOPS.
- Planning and managing delivery of the Preventative Maintenance Plan within the plant and coordination of the follow up and breakdown response liaising with the Plant Manager.
- Planning of workload to ensure effective use of engineering resource, including management of the shift pattern.
- Provide cover for other Engineering Roles, as required.
- Identify, implement, measure plant/maintenance improvement initiatives to design out faults, reduce MDT and improve overall machine reliability.
- Coordinate all activities within the plant associated with safety related Engineering issues.
- Management of stock control of critical spares for the plant.
- Support the introduction of new equipment into the plant and be responsible for ensuring all aspects associated with maintaining the plant are covered.
- Responsibility for the development and implementation of relevant small capital projects and involvement in major capital works, where appropriate.
- Manage, engage and develop employees within remit including discipline, grievance, training, evaluations, goal setting and PDRs.
- Lead and promote continuous improvement initiatives.
- Attend and participate in daily shift meetings to discuss all production activities.
- Any other reasonable duties required by management.

- A degree or HND or City and Guilds in an Engineering discipline.

Hours
- 37.5 Hours per week.
- Shift pattern – Monday to Thursday 8.30 – 17.00, Friday 8.30 – 14.30.
