The Procurement and Planning Manager will lead procurement and planning activities, develop and implement procurement strategies, ensuring efficient planning and availability of materials and resources to support manufacturing and development activities.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Establish and manage a robust materials planning process to ensure timely availability of inputs for production and R&D.
- Optimisation of procurement, planning and scheduling processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, and Finance to forecast demand and align supply and resource plans.
- Lead sourcing and negotiation with suppliers of raw materials, consumables, and services.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, ensuring business continuity.
- Manage inventory levels to balance cost efficiency with operational readiness.
- Maintain the master schedule, working across functions to ensure resource requirements are clear.
Essential skills and experience:
- Proven experience in procurement and/or materials planning within the pharmaceutical, CDMO, or life sciences sector.
- Understanding of GMP requirements and supply chain compliance in a regulated environment.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing business with evolving processes.
Preferred skills and experience:
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate with suppliers and manage contracts effectively.
- Experience implementing or working with ERP/MRP systems.
