Main duties of the job

Duties may include:

Assisting the Nursing and Clinical teams when required

Maintaining accurate clinical records

Ensuring records and consultations are coded effectively and accurately

Chaperoning patients where necessary

Assisting GPs with minor surgery, coil, and Nexplanon clinics

Supporting nurses during clinics and procedures

Supporting the team during clinical emergencies

Assisting in the delivery of adult and childhood vaccination programmes

Supporting safeguarding processes in line with local and national policies

Delivering opportunistic health promotion where appropriate

Carrying out venepuncture/phlebotomy, wound care, blood pressure monitoring, ECGs, ear irrigation, injections, and health promotion clinics

Administrative duties including ordering stock, stock control, maintaining clinical rooms, and assisting with medical records administration

Qualification/Training/Experience

• Previous experience working in a GP practice, primary care, or healthcare setting is desirable.
• Experience supporting patient care and working within a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience of phlebotomy/venepuncture is desirable.
• Skills and Knowledge
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload.
• Basic understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding, and infection prevention.
• Experience using EMIS Web is desirable; however, full training and support will be provided.
• Experience using EMIS Web is desirable; however, full training and support will be provided.
• Previous experience working in a GP practice, primary care, or other healthcare environment.
• Experience carrying out phlebotomy/venepuncture and other clinical procedures.
• Experience working within a multidisciplinary team.

• Experience in phlebotomy/venepuncture is desirable, although training can be provided for the right candidate.
• Experience using clinical systems such as EMIS Web is an advantage but not essential.

• Experience carrying out phlebotomy/venepuncture and other clinical procedures.
