Grade 1 SCP 3-4 (pro rata based on term time only and part time hours)

30 hours per week

Monday - Friday 8.45 - 3.15pm

Upper Arley C of E Primary School is a warm, welcoming and inclusive village school with high expectations for all children. We are seeking a caring, committed and enthusiastic 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team and provide personalised support for a child with additional needs.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

• Provide one-to-one support for a named pupil throughout the school day.
• Implement strategies identified in the child's EHCP, support plans and professional recommendations.
• Support the child's academic, social, emotional and communication development.
• Adapt learning activities under the direction of the class teacher.
• Promote independence whilst providing appropriate levels of support.
• Use positive behaviour approaches and emotional regulation strategies.
• Liaise effectively with teaching staff, SEND professionals and parents where appropriate.
• Help create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

• Has experience working with children in a school or similar setting (in a one-to-one role is desirable)
• Demonstrates patience, empathy and a child-centred approach.
• Can build positive and trusting relationships with children.
• Has strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Is flexible, resilient and committed to inclusive practice.
• Has an understanding of SEND, particularly autism, ADHD, communication needs or social, emotional and mental health needs (desirable).
• Shares the Christian values and ethos of our school.
