We have an opportunity for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician specialising in plumbing and mechanical boiler and heating repairs to work as part of our Leeds team, providing both planned and responsive maintenance expertise. This is a permanent full time position working 37.5 hours, 5-days per week. You will be part of the maintenance team that covers shift patterns between 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. The salary is £38499.00 per annum plus overtime.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance in accordance with the Service Level Agreement and provide front line response for all plumbing and mechanical work.
- Undertake all work in a safe working environment, assessing all Health and Safety issues before work commences and report any hazards or safety issues to the relevant Manager.
- Carry out PPM in accordance with the schedule & liaise with specialist sub-contractors.
- Maintain accurate records of breakdowns and maintenance repairs, including records for statutory compliance.
- Assist with statutory testing including fire alarm testing, fire extinguisher, fire blanket and fire detector checks, water temperature monitoring, shower head cleaning and emergency lighting checks.
- Take the lead in building stock management (ordering, storage, distribution) ensuring appropriate parts are held and available to meet SLA timescales for repair.
- Assist team colleagues in other trades as and when required including cross-trade skills sharing.
We are looking for you to already be a skilled plumber within a maintenance environment with a range of repair work experience. You will also have great communication and organisation skills, always delivering work to a high standard. Alongside this, you will have a good understanding of the operational procedures and safe working practices of building services and systems as well as a good understanding of health and safety, with the ability to always work in a safe manner. You will also be prepared to work (with notice) additional hours when needed, especially during the main student arrival and departure weekends every year.
