Roles and Responsibilities
- Attending and participating in training, staff meetings and other meetings relevant to the role.
- Assisting with administration associated with the events including inputting attendance data, responding to student queries and other associated event administration.
- Contributing to the social media marketing of events and activities.
- Taking an active role in planning events, contributing event ideas during planning and assisting with organisation.
- Leading a minimum of one event per week, which involves setting up the event, directing volunteer reps, registering event attendance, leading the activity or assisting the activity leader, and responding to queries that may arise.
- Ensuring the event is conducted safely in accordance with health and safety policies.
- Actively promoting upcoming events to event attendees.
- Gathering feedback and assessing during events from attendees.
- Attending relevant training provided by UPP and its partners.
- Being a trusted part of the halls community by being a point of contact for students, answering questions and informing staff on issues within the halls of residence.
Requirements
- Candidates must be current University students who are living or have previously lived in the University halls of residence.
- Candidates must have the right to work in the UK.
- You must be available to attend a compulsory training session (date to be confirmed with all successful candidates).
Commitment
The role guarantees a minimum of 5 hours per week during term time only (circa. 25 weeks, 2.5 terms) with the potential for further hours when necessary. The Senior Reps will be expected to run a minimum of one event per week along with administration time. This role will include some evening and weekend working.
