We have a great opportunity for an experienced Compliance Manager to join our team at Nottingham Trent University. This key role is responsible for ensuring statutory, regulatory and contractual compliance across a large and complex student accommodation portfolio. You will play a vital part in maintaining safe, efficient and compliant operations while supporting continuous improvement and service excellence.

A full-time position working Monday to Friday, 8.30am-5pm, with a salary up to £40,000 per annum dependant on relevant experience and qualifications. This is a role where your insights and leadership will influence decisions and elevate the compliance culture.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Develop value-added strategies that improve efficiency, optimise cost, and enhance service outcomes
  • Demonstrate strong commercial acumen by analysing operational and financial data to identify trends, risks and opportunities, translating insight into clear business priorities
  • Act as a visible champion for a positive safety culture across site teams and contractors. Lead by example to ensure safe working practices are embedded within the team
  • Provide clear direction, leadership and guidance to site teams, direct reports and stakeholders on compliance standards and expectations
  • Focus on strategy, translation of data into priorities, and act as an ambassador for group strategy are all core leadership behaviours rather than technical compliance activities.
  • Manage onsite helpdesk alongside operational responsibility that assures statutory compliance activities are delivered on time and to required standards, minimising disruption to students and site operations
  • Maintain accurate records and evidence to support audits and reporting
  • Actively seeks opportunities to innovate, improve efficiency and enhance the student experience, embedding a culture of learning, accountability and continuous improvement across teams
We are looking for you to have worked in a similar role and have already have experience in:
  • Effectively managing statutory and regulatory compliance in a facilities, property or accommodation context, along with comprehensive knowledge of UK regulatory frameworks and statutory requirements relevant to facilities and maintenance.
  • Ensuring compliance, implementing best practices, and advising senior management on risk mitigation and operational standards.
  • Implementing a quality management framework and worked closely with CAFM systems, maintaining data to pull Management Information reports.

Alongside this you will have great communication, analytical and organisation skills, be methodical with a detailed approach, and have the passion and drive to do a great job. You will also be prepared to work (with notice) additional hours when needed, especially during the main student arrival and departure weekends.
