Here at UPP we have an opportunity for a Planned Maintenance Assistant to work as part of our team in providing both a planned and responsive maintenance service. This is a fixed-term position working 37.5 hours per week from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. The salary is £25,395 per annum.
Role responsibilities as a Maintenance Assistant include:
- Carry out Planned maintenance in accordance with the Service Level Agreement (SLA) and provide front line response.
- Ensure that the environment is maintained in accordance with the SLA, including keeping the site clean and clear throughout the year.
- Assist with statutory testing including fire alarm testing, fire extinguisher, fire blanket and fire detector checks, water temperature monitoring, shower head cleaning and emergency lighting checks.
- Report any Health and Safety issues relating to the residence ensuring all information is passed to the relevant Manager(s).

We are looking for you to have worked in a similar role and environment and have great communication and organisation skills, along with the passion to do a great job. You will have a good understanding of the operational procedures and safe working practices of building services and systems as well as good understanding of health and safety, with the ability to always work in a safe manner. You will also be prepared to work (with notice) additional hours when needed, especially during the main student arrival and departure weekends.
Offers of employment are subject to satisfactory vetting, inclusive of employment referencing covering the past three years and you may be subject to additional vetting and barring checks to ensure your suitability for the role, which could include completing a basic DBS.
