Uplift Games is the studio behind Adopt Me, the #1 game on the Roblox platform (42+ billion visits, 1.92 million record CCU) all about adopting cute pets. We’re looking for a talented 3D Environment Artist to join our studio.

You’ll bring strong expertise in creating high-quality 3D and 2D artwork, paired with solid game development knowledge. We’re looking for a proactive, can-do mindset and genuine enthusiasm for learning new tools, techniques, and workflows to deliver top-tier results on evolving projects. You’ll collaborate closely with artists, designers, engineers, and other teams—translating concepts into professional, polished in-game experiences that shine for millions of players.

This is an opportunity to create an outsized impact on many millions of players while operating in a small studio where every person plays a major role. It’s important that you take pride in your work, love to learn new things, and are naturally driven to deliver the best-in-class experiences.

You value diversity and want to work alongside talented people from marginalized groups. We are explicitly a trans, LGBTQ+, BIPOC / BAME and disability positive team. This is a remote position open to candidates who are based in the US or UK and can demonstrate eligibility to work in those countries.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Model and texture high quality 3D assets for use as environment art presented in FBX format using Maya as software.
  • Liaise on creative ideas for new in-game environment content. Concentrate on UX in all level and environment design and implementation.
  • Work alongside our existing team to push the limits of the Roblox platform in innovative ways.
  • When necessary, help improve workflows, techniques and content pipelines to help you and other artists create better art.
  • Ensure all assets are beautiful, fit within our established art style and have an acceptable level of performance across PC, Mobile and Console platforms.
  • When necessary, implement your assets into the in-game environments to create seamless and immersive play experiences.
Your Background

These are the things candidates really should have but can make up for in other areas. If you’re missing one or two, consider applying anyway, especially if you belong to a marginalized group.

  • 2+ years experience as a 3D artist within the games industry, or a similar industry.
  • Skilled in Blender, Maya or your preferred equivalent.
  • Skilled in Photoshop or your preferred equivalent.
  • Some experience with Substance, 3d Coat or your preferred equivalent. In-depth knowledge of PBR.
  • Knowledge of Roblox studio and have worked on at least one Roblox experience.
  • Working knowledge of Roblox lighting systems.
  • Able to produce quality work that targets a designated Poly count.
  • Empathy and perspective. You are an excellent listener and are able to filter feedback in a non-reactionary way that takes into account multiple perspectives.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to form positive relationships with all stakeholders.
  • You excel in small teams and self-managed environments, and are receptive to taking and interpreting Art direction.
  • You value diversity and want to work alongside talented gender-expansive people, women, LGBTQIA+, BIPOC / BAME, and neuro-atypical people.
Bonus Points

These are things that can improve your candidacy, but none of these are necessary to apply.

  • Bachelors of Art or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience working in a large distributed / remote team.
  • Experience working on a free-to-play service-based game.
  • Skilled at sketching, and other 2D art skills.
Requested Supplementary Documents
  • A copy of your CV / Resume
  • A brief overview (cover letter) of why you want to work at Uplift Games
  • A copy of your portfolio in PDF or web-hosted format
  • An art test will be provided for any successful first round candidates.
